Recertification
In order to sell Medicare plans, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that every Agent – that’s you! – needs to complete annual Medicare and product-specific trainings.
You need recertification if you’re a Humana Medicare Agent who either certified or recertified with Humana last year.

Who?
Did you sell Humana Medicare products last year? Do you want to sell them again this year? If you said yes to both, then recertification is for you.
What?
Similarly to certification, you need to pass a Medicare basics course and Humana’s product-specific course in order to sell our Medicare Advantage and PDP plans. These courses are reinforcements and updates of the information you learned during your initial certification.
When?
If you plan to sell Humana’s Medicare products for Plan Year 2021, you must recertify prior to selling 2021 plans and by 5:00 PM EST on November 30th, 2020. Recertification courses will launch on June 30th*, so you’ll have plenty of time to complete them.
*NOTE: Spanish versions will be delayed until after the June 30th launch. Look for additional communications on Spanish versions.
How?
If you’re recertifying, you’ll need to pass two courses: AHIP training and a Humana-specific training. AHIP training covers CMS-approved Medicare basics, while the Humana course goes over compliance, Humana’s products and tools, and general Agent guidance.
You will have 60 minutes to complete the test for AHIP. For the Humana portion of your training, you will complete the content, including knowledge checks, and attest that you understand and will follow all Humana guidance. There is no Humana-specific test. You will have 6 attempts to pass the AHIP portion of Certification.
Next Steps for Recertification
Don’t hesitate to talk to your Humana representative if you have any questions along the way.
